Victoria B.C. Ghost Walk

In recent weeks it has come to my attention that certain parties are using my ghost stories and those of my contributors as references for their own commercial enterprises.  If you or someone you know is writing a book on ghosts in the Pacific Northwest, PLEASE DO NOT!!! copy or use the following stories or any other materials within this website as references.

In the last few years, many people have become interested in the paranormal.  Their interests range from taking on the role of dedicated ghost hunters, to recreational ghost hunting.  The latter usually takes the form or planning vacations around haunted locales, such as hotels and restaurants, and going on ghost walks.  Because I have written on ghostly tourism, I receive emails from many people about where the ghost tours are,  and  how good are they?  It is sometimes difficult for me to keep track of this growing industry, so I am asking for reader's help.

Below I have links to different ghost walks.  Click on the link and it will take you to pages with more information on each walk.  These descriptions are from the organizations who put the walks on.  I do not necessarily endorse the walk, or what the description says.  This information and the graphics used as icons are the property of the tour owners.

I hope that readers will contact me and add comments after they take the various walks.  When you comment, try and be precise and to the point.  Please do not use profanity, or I cannot post your emails.  Please suggest other walks that I can add to this section.

Discover the Past Ghost Walks

of

Victoria, British Columbia

Why is Victoria the most haunted place in British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest? Over 5,000 years of native history and a lively parade of events and characters since Fort Victoria was founded in 1843 are good reasons to start with. Bastion Square, Old Town, Chinatown, St. Ann's Academy and the historic waterfront have more hauntings than any other parts of the city. Join John Adams and his team of professional guides on Victoria's famous ghost tours that explore the narrow alleys, historic courtyards and other spooky places where the echoes of hangings, murders and colourful events can still be heard and where ghosts can make their presence known at any time of the day or night.

Ghostly Walks are walking tours conducted every night from mid-June to mid-September and on weekends through the rest of the year, with additional tours in October. Ghost tours for booked groups may be arranged at any time. The tours have been developed by John Adams, one of Victoria's foremost historians and storytellers, who has been leading ghost tours through the alleys and haunted places of Victoria since 1970. He has appeared on the TV series Ghosts and Ghoulies and on OLN's Creepy Canada. The tours are conducted by John and his team of expert guides.
